About me

After over 40 happy and successful years in the sports industry (starting on Deansgate, Manchester in 1979)  I decided to have a change of career before it got too late.

After overcoming cancer in 2020 thanks to the wonderful NHS and in particular The Christie Hospital, I realised I might not live forever after all and so here I am with my own website!! 

I started as a Freelance City Centre Tour Guide in Manchester during 2024, a return to the city centre doing something I truly enjoy. 

In July 2025 I was proud to be asked to represent Manchester  City FC  as a Tour Guide at the Etihad Stadium, an amazing job being involved in my favourite sport.

I continue my voluntary roles at Albion United Reformed Church in Ashton-under-Lyne where I am an Elder and Secretary. I write articles for church magazines and lead worship at churches in the North West of England. I also play guitar in a gospel group called Korah Selah and we play mainly in Care Homes, Church Services and at Garden Parties.

My love of writing has led me to read my poetry at Open Mic nights and write gospel songs. 

I'm married to Amanda, we have three grown up children and one grandchild.
